ESI
Established in Zamudio, near Bilbao (Spain), the Fundación European Software Institute (ESI-TECNALIA) is a non-profit organisation launched in 1993 by initiative of the European Commission and with the support of leading European companies and the Basque Government. The primary objective of ESI-TECNALIA is to contribute to developing the Information Society and to increasing industry competitiveness by means of knowledge, innovation, continuous improvement, and the promotion and dissemination of information technology. ESI-TECNALIA with an international staff of around 80 people develops, in close collaboration with its members and leading European companies, innovative products and services that ease the transfer of technology and contribute to improve industry competitiveness.
ESI-TECNALIA is currently member of the TECNALIA Technology Corporation. TECNALIA is an internationally representative agent in the Technological Innovation world whose aim is to contribute to economic and social development, initiating technological innovation through research and development. TECNALIA, immersed in a sectorial technological specialisation process, annually attends more than 3,500 companies that collaborates in multiple processes and participates successfully in different research programmes.
